Find Your Best Path to Create Positive Impact with Social Enterprise

If You Are Driven To Have A Larger Impact,
The IDEA FINDER Workshop Is For You

Let Me Guess... You:

  • Want to do work that is more closely aligned with your personal values.
  • Are passionate about a few (or a too many!) social/environmental causes, but...
  • Aren't sure how to find the best social enterprise idea to pursue -- one that will be the best match for you.
  • Have plenty of strong skills you want to make use of in your social enterprise, but...
  • Aren't sure how to link your unique talents and experience with the causes you care about.

Let's Find the Best Social Enterprise Idea For You

One That Makes a BIG Impact, AND Is Authentically You.

In the Idea Finder Workshop, You Will:

Find Your Personal ‘North Star’ Vision for Change

You will leave the workshop with a clear understanding of the change you want to see in the world and your role in making it happen. You will craft your very own vision for change, or ‘North Star’, to guide your social enterprise work.

Explore Possible Social Enterprise Ideas

With your personal strengths and North Star in mind, you will go through idea brainstorming exercises to generate several possibilities for what shape your social enterprise could take. Then you'll use a simple framework to narrow them down to the few that are the best fit for you.

Identify the Best Path to Get to
Your North Star Vision for Change

You will leave with a clear direction on how to move forward finalizing the top social enterprise ideas you identify in the Idea Finder Workshop.

And You Can Expect To:

Learn By Doing

This is not a passive workshop so come ready to reflect, discuss, engage and get your hands dirty (metaphorically!). The hands-on exercises and discussion will help clarify the best direction to take your social enterprise work.

Set Aside Some Time Before the Workshop

There is a small amount of pre-work to complete before the workshop. It will be sent one week before the live workshop, and is at the beginning of your workbook for the on-demand format.  You should only need to give yourself about 2 hours to complete it.

Meet Like-Minded Social Entrepreneurs

Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with your fellow changemakers! *Live workshop format only*

"Thank you very much for a very nice workshop. I liked very much your style of interacting, the structure you have used to pass it to the participants and the content you have provided.

The workshop gave me some new tools to try to find my idea, and that what I was looking for and expected to have. I'd recommended to others for sure!"

Sobhi K.

"I took the Idea Finder Workshop because I wanted to find a new idea, or at least pick one path to go down.  At first I struggled to dissect my ideas because they were so high-level and I viewed them as competing thoughts. But in the workshop I was able to see some themes of how they are actually connected.

My biggest takeaway was that I need to chip away at my pie-in-the-sky ideas and come more of a "grounds up" approach...  I am excited to work through the exercises again on my own.  I was very energized and felt like someone finally lit the fire under me to really dig into these ideas and thoughts....so thank you!"

Erin P.

“Everything you presented was super intuitive. I needed a grounding philosophy because I don’t necessarily have the planning capabilities to structure all my abstract ideas. So as a result, when you were presenting these ideas to me, I was like, oh! That makes sense!

It was completely aligned with the way I’d been thinking but I had no way to process those thoughts until the workshop. The processing is just as important as having the ideas, and that’s how the workshop helped me so much.”

Syma H.

"It was really nice to have the opportunity to study together all the valuable information we cover during the session. It was just what I was looking for and I loved the idea of evaluating my ideas through different criteria.

Thank you so much for preparing an amazing session for us. I'd love to keep learning all about social enterprise from you!"

theSedge.org has taught me that anyone, with a bit of work, can start something in their own community. By facilitating an environment where people of similar interests can communicate, theSedge inspires accountability and motivation. It’s refreshing to see ideation and a solutions-focused approach to social issues, rather than just sitting around talking or listening to a tired-out lecture. As an educator, I will bring to my classroom the methods and ideas that theSedge has shown me.
